I have what looks like an excel doc on my desktop, using Mac OSX 10.7.3

Item has a file name of 12997100 with no extension

I cannot move it to the trash, even with option or control key

Do a Get Info on it, what rights does it say, or is it Locked maybe?

Here's an old trick from the OS 9 days. Add .rtf to the file name (12997100.rtf). Then open TextEdit and create a simple file. Then do a Save As and give it the name 12997100.rtf. Then you may be asked if you want to replace the older file. Click Yes.

Look at these links. (Don't know if all apply to Lion.)
