i have been trying to change the color of my different calendars and it won't allow me to do so. it will temporarily make the change, then it will change back to the original color. why is that?

You won't be able to change the colors in certain calendars, like subscribed calendars.. On the iPad, the colors are assigned in a specific order.

Yeah, I agree, it's a bit annoying. Hopefully the next iOS update will give the user the capability to change the colors, like in Lion.
