Q: Secure link to iTunes Store failed

I can't log in or connect to iTunes store from my PC.  About two weeks ago I was watching movie on my AppleTV and all of a sudden it stoped in the middle of it and asaid I was not connected to iTunes.  Ever since then I cannot connect.  When I run diagnostics I get msg "secure link to iTunes Store failed" and when I click on the Help button it tells me that I am not connected to the internet.

That is not true as I can browse the net and I can even log into my accout on line but just cannot log in to iTunes or connect to the Store.  Please, help.

I have spent the last five hours reading all the posts in the thread and trying everything suggested. I cannot provide a diagnostic profile since iTunes does not even connect me to the site and give me the proverbial message about being unable to connect to the internet despite already being on-line.

    Windows XP

    I have tried the following:

    • installing and reinstalling iTunes - the most current ones and older ones
    • flushing DNS
    • winsock review and repair
    • repair of QuickTime and iTunes
    • ensured iTunes was selected as exception for Windows Firewall
    • Windows XP patch from 2009 (suggested in previous post)

(these are all that I can remember at this time)

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

    QuickTime not available

iTunes is not enable in firewall!

You need to re-dowload iTunes with Quick time player and also go to your firewall and able iTunes. If you read the previous messages they tell you how to do it

    Hello,

SInce a week, when I try to connect to Itunes Store to buy a song, once I clik to Itunes Store I only get a "white page" which shows on top the amount of my credit and and the line with the following options: MUSIC / MOVIES / TV SHOWS... but the page below stays blank... and when I do a search for an artist, agter having enterred the artist name: the page still stays blank.

I am not sure why this is happening as it worked fine a week ago ... but not anymore since the past five days I tried. Can anyone help maybe please? Thanks in advance

    Hello Huron,

I spent hours on the same problem.  If you are running Windows XP sp2 upgrade to sp3.  Microsoft still has the link to the download on their website.

Back up your computer to be safe.  I did not lose any files or data but you can never be too sure.

I was able to connect to the iTunes Store once I installed Service Pack 3,

    Good Luck!
