With my multi-page document, in layout form showing placeholders, the bottom line of text and the header will not accept the curser to enable any text cirrections or to insert page numbers. Page numbering was origonally okay but when headers removed and reinserted the problem arose. Page 09 V4.1(923) is used. Any clues as to the reason for this difficulty

Sorry, in my earlier post there is an error. Please replace the word headers with footers.
You have the two overlapping?
Menu > View > Show Layout

Many thanks for your kind offer Peter. By reassigning the parameters of my pages, the problem went away. I suspect it was caused by 'widows & orphans'. I have a difficulty with page numbering & have make another post. Thank again.
