can laptops use remote keyboards

If a MacBook Pro 15 is your only computer, can it use a remote keyboard? I find that I would rather use the ergonomic keyboards as opposed to the keyboard that is found on the laptop itself. I can type considerably faster with more accuracy and getting to the mouse rather than using the touch pad is also quicker and less time consuming.

Any help with this would be great, Thanks!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 04/2010-15" and 06/2011-13"

You can really use any USB keyboard and mouse, however, if you use ones specific to Apple they will work the best as they will have features that are specific to Apple. You can also purchase Bluetooth keyboards as well which is what I use. I have both a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and have the adapter to hook my mbp to my monitor so when I have it all set up, works just like a desktop. The mouse is the magic mouse which is touch sensitive as well so when you rub your finger on the mouse it works like a scroll wheel and other features like back and things like that as well. Works really nice, but yeah, you can use external mice and keyboards on your mbp.
