Turn off - immediately!

Dry off the outside as much as possible.

Place into a sealable bag nearly full or rice.

Expel the air and seal the bag.

Leave it for as long as possible (over 24 hours is best).

Cross fingers that rice was pulled the moisture out of the iPod.

iPhone and iPod: Liquid damage is not covered by warranty.

If you search the forum, you will find that a lot of posts tell you NOT to put it in a bag of rice as this can do more damage due to the powdery substance on rice setting into the ports and becoming moist.

Most posts I have read on the matter say to use a Desiccant { like the ones you get in new shoes / electronic device boxes etc. } Make sure it is turned OFF and place in a sealed Ziploc style bags, and to leave for up to 4 - 5 days to make sure there is as little moisture left as possible.
