You are probably still using the MobileMe email server settings: iCloud's are different and are listed here:

Which raises some questions:

  • Were you originally on MobileMe? If you have an @mac.com address you must have been.
  • Have you migrated at http://me.com/move - if you are logging into iCloud I would have expected you have.
  • Are you using Lion 10.7.2 (required for iCloud) or an earlier system?
  • If LIon, have you signed in at System Preferences>iCloud?
  • If you've done this, can you access your email in Mail? (you will need to check this in the prefs. pane)
  • Can you access your email at http://icloud.com ?

Access to your iCloud email is by the same login and password as the rest of iCloud. However you may have a different login for iTunes which may not work - it doesn't matter if iTunes is using a different ID.

Hey Roger,

Yes to everything, I do get (me)@me.com mail via iCloud web interface i just can't seem to setup my outlook 2011, for Mac, email client via the imap manual set up procedure. The reason im guessing is that i have to have a me.com login for their server to recognise me but my icloud login is mac.com, In icloud this has obviously been addressed, i am guessing the mail app on my mac is going to have the same problem. SO i suppose the problem is if your iCloud login is mac.com and you want to set up a me.com email client it just won't work. If their was a way manipulate the me.com logins independent of the iCloud login it would work, so i guess thats what i am looking for.
