I am on a Mac running iTunes 10.6.1. I need an easy way to scan the entire library looking for unconected tunes. I discovered three by accident and my guess is there are others. My library currently consists of almost 800 albums so there are possibly close to 5000 tunes, too many to check one by one.

I saw references to Windows based tools but I couldn't find anything for the Mac. I am betting something is out there but I need a pointer.

MacBook Pro (15-inch 2.4/2.2 GHz), Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Doug's AppleScripts has some good tools to sift through iTunes http://dougscripts.com

Another trick I read, but never tried, was to make a standard playlist and copy all of your songs to it (GoodFiles). Evidently iTunes will not copy unfound files to a playlist. Then make a smart playlist (MissingFiles) of songs that are NOT in GoodFiles. After you've considered if the files are really gone or not you may wish to use the Consolidate option under File ->Library-> Organize Library.
