Apr 29, 2012 11:18 AM in response to JSBillianby coander15,I don't see why it wouldn't. Don't hold me to that. But I think that will work just fine. I installed 8GB of RAM on one of my White MacBooks and it works great! You should be all set.

Apr 29, 2012 12:09 PM in response to coander15by JSBillian,Thanks Conrad,
There actually is another question I am hoping you can help with:
According to the Apple support page you sent me (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1651#link1), my Macbook model (13-in, Mid 2010) is compatible with a maximum memory of 4GB and includes 2 memory slots.
Does this mean I can have a maximum of 4GB memory in total with (2 X 2GB) RAM Chips
OR
Does this mean I can have 8GB total with (2 X 4GB) RAM chips?
THANKS!

Apr 29, 2012 12:24 PM in response to JSBillianby coander15,★HelpfulYou did read that right. Apple lists what they think should be the maximum amount of RAM. However it is not correct. Your Mac can accept 8GB of RAM. Take a look at OWC (just click on OWC) that will take you to the site that sells RAM specifically for Macs. Your Unibody MacBook can accept up to 8GB of RAM 2X4GB. Take my MacBook Pro for instants, Apple claims the maximum amount of memory is 8GB. But in reality it can take up to 16GB. It has more to do with the Processor, rather than the logic board itself. You can take up to 8GB.

Jul 21, 2012 12:56 PM in response to coander15by mplark,Hello Coander, would you mind fielding a question?
I own a MacBook Pro 3,1 which I think is also referred to as "mid-2007." It has a Core 2 Duo proc and uses DDR2-5300 SODIMMS. I am using OX 10.6.8 because I have an older version of Creative Suite (CS2) that won't play with Lion. Do you think I could install and use 8 gb of RAM in this machine under 10.6.8?
Thanks.

Jul 21, 2012 3:02 PM in response to stedman1by mplark,Thanks for the reply. So 6 GB is max, not 8 GB? Does it matter 10.6.8 or 10.7?

Jul 22, 2012 1:16 AM in response to mplarkby stedman1,You're welcome. It doesn't matter which Operating System, the limitation is still the same.
