Question regarding Ram compatibility

Hello,

I found a RAM chip online (posted below with a link), however am unsure if it will be compatible with my Macbook. May you please help me determine if it is fully compatible with my Macbook given the following specs please?:

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

Thanks Conrad,

There actually is another question I am hoping you can help with:

According to the Apple support page you sent me (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1651#link1), my Macbook model (13-in, Mid 2010) is compatible with a maximum memory of 4GB and includes 2 memory slots.

Does this mean I can have a maximum of 4GB memory in total with (2 X 2GB) RAM Chips

OR

Does this mean I can have 8GB total with (2 X 4GB) RAM chips?

THANKS!

You did read that right. Apple lists what they think should be the maximum amount of RAM. However it is not correct. Your Mac can accept 8GB of RAM. Take a look at OWC (just click on OWC) that will take you to the site that sells RAM specifically for Macs. Your Unibody MacBook can accept up to 8GB of RAM 2X4GB. Take my MacBook Pro for instants, Apple claims the maximum amount of memory is 8GB. But in reality it can take up to 16GB. It has more to do with the Processor, rather than the logic board itself. You can take up to 8GB.

Hello Coander, would you mind fielding a question?

I own a MacBook Pro 3,1 which I think is also referred to as "mid-2007." It has a Core 2 Duo proc and uses DDR2-5300 SODIMMS. I am using OX 10.6.8 because I have an older version of Creative Suite (CS2) that won't play with Lion. Do you think I could install and use 8 gb of RAM in this machine under 10.6.8?

Thanks.

Sorry for reviving this old thread

I have a 13-inch late 2009 Macbook, 2.26 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with

3GB of 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM (2GB in slot, 1GB in the other).

My brother recently gave me a 2GB RAM card but I'm not sure

if its compatible, its specs are: 2GB SOD PC2-6400 CL5

I'm wondering if this type of RAM card be compatible with my Mac,

any help will be greatly appreciated.
