Q: iMAC Desktop crashed

I heard a loud pop in my computer and it will not turn on anymore?  I think the hard drive is okay, but it was an electrical issue.  Any suggestions?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Take it in, you blew a capacitor or something, they make that popping sound when they go.

    New LogicBoard.

As ds store said, could be the logic board, or the power supply, depending on the 'pop' but most likely, it is the logic board.

Unless you're covered by warranty, this could be expensive, so be prepared

Contact Apple Tech Support to either arrange a repair or to find your nearest Apple Service Centre. They should be able to give you a quote for the cost of repair (unless as I said it's under warranty )

If your plug has a fuse in it, try changing the fuse - they can sort of pop when they blow, it could be as simple as that. If however your plug has no fuse, contact Apple Tech Support.
