How do you use the AC power cord for the 11-inch macbook air?

I bought a 11 inch macbook air. I am still wondering how to use the powercord, it seemed really confusing.

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

You can use it with or without the 6' extension. See photos:
