Q: Synch problem with iPhone3G

I use my old iPhone3g as an iPod, but every time I connect it to my computer it recognizes it as my current iPhone and it has been giving me problems loading music. Is there a way that I can change or reconfigure my iTunes so that it will recognize my iPhone3G as my iPod?

iPhone 3G, Windows XP

iTunes should recognize it as a unique device, separate from your current iPhone.  Are you sure your old and current iPhones don't just have the same name, so it appears to be recognized as your current phone?  Try changing the name of your 3Gs (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3965), then disconnect the phone from your computer and reconnect it to confirm that it is seeing it as a unique device with a unique name.
