Can't find recorded video iChats.

I am trying to access recorded video iChats. It seems as if the recording process is going fine. The person I am chatting with accepts my request to be recorded and the red light goes on. We talk for a bit and then end the chat. I cannot find the file that is supposed to be created. Files are not in downloads or documents\iChats. Anyone have any ideas? If not, are there alternative methods to record video chats?

Thanks

Hi,

Try iTunes

Also try the Movies Folder (Your Home Folder/Movies)

Thanks. I should have updated my post. Last night after more trolling thru forums, I saw the same suggestion. What is very strange is that I found the chats I had recorded that day in the movies folder, but the chats I had recorded a few days earlier are still nowhere to be found. I will try it again and see if it keeps working.

HI,

Now you have a naming format you should be able to use Spotlight to find the others.

NOTE.

The Recorded Chat is only saved on ending the Chat.

It will do 3 and 4 way chats but will wait for the last Buddy to go if you are Host and the chat is fully ended.

There can be issues if the Connection is suddenly dropped rather than the chat ended within iChat which can lead to you not having a copy.

There was/is this Conference Recorder

It works in iChat up to version 4.1.9 in Leopard. (OS X 10.5.8)

Unlike the included option it does not ask the Buddy for permission.

There is a Demo Download button on the left.
