garageband saying "audio file not found"

yesterday I recorded an interview for an assignment using the podcast option, and later i went back to listen to it, but it kept skipping over all the audio and saying that it couldn't be played (after I had tested it in the morning). So I quickly saved it, then quit the program because I thought that must be the problem. Then I tried to reopen the file and it just keeps saying "audio file not found". I have tried every solution I could find on the internet so far and nothing has worked. Can anyone please help me restore this file so i can get my assignment done?

Working on GB '11, same thing is happening to me. Seems Apple hasn't fixed the issue, but I've found a simple ( slightly tedious) way to prevent missing files.

Simply always "Save As"... Never just "Save." Otherwise, you'll lose your audio files. So whenever you save your work, click "Save As" and just keep replacing the file; no need to rename.

Until Apple solves the issue here, that's how I'm working around it for now.
