Will the regular usb Cable last long or suggestions for cheap long lasting cables?

Im fed up of keep buying cables and i want to know if the normal one will last long and how to make it last long or if you bave a suggestion for a long lasting cable

iPod touch (4th generation), iOS 5.0.1

Buy the Apple brand, it should last very long if you treat it well.

I still have the original Dock Connecter-to-USB cable that came with my first iPod and it still works just fine and I've had it almost five years.
