Can't Open Some PDFs
I have the most recent version of Adobe Reader and can't open/read some PDFs that I could open with OS10.6.

Do they open using Preview?
Pete
What happens when you open in Adobe Reader?
OK, so I assume that you're running Adobe Reader 10.1.3? Have you tried opening a pdf from File->Open, or just double-clicking on the pdf icon? Can you read a pdf in your browser? I've not run into any problems with reading pdf forms. Could you tell us what you've tried to do so far to open the files, and the results?
Clinton
Blank screen.
Have not tried anything but double clicking. Will try suggestions.
Cannot open PDFs. Still get blank screen.
Since there was another thread similar to yours, I have to ask this. Are you trying to read these pdf's from your browser? I ask because that poster worded his post much like yours and I didn't find out until a follow on post he actually only meant the problem was reading pdf's in his browser.

Good point Mr. X I also remember reading that post. Quite an important distinction to be made between the two.

And??? Is that the case here?
Also what's the behavior using a different account?

I do not know if that is the case here or not, just saying also that the OP needs to make it clear and perhaps try it in a different account as you suggest.
You seem to have everything well under control here, sorry for infringing on your territory.
Good Luck

Sorry, I didn't look back and didn't notice you weren't the OP.

No, that's cool. Done the same myself often.
Cheers

I can't open in Firefox but can open in Safari. Have current versions of both browsers. Can open from emails.
So are we talking about browsers or the actual pdf readers (Preview, Adobe Reader)? If it is browsers then remove the following two plugins:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
If it is the readers see if they work in another account.
Also is this problem with some specific pdfs or all pdfs?
You need to run Firefox in 32-bit mode in order for the pdf file to be displayed. Just "Get Info" from the Finder while the Firefox icon is selected (or hold down Command-I) and check "Open in 32-bit mode." Everything will work fine from then on. Be certain that you're running Acrobat 10.1.3 (the latest version of Reader and Acrobat Pro X) and version 12 of Firefox.
That should solve your problem.
