Remove 'unknown album' from Albums view?

Hi - for all songs that aren't part of a complete album, I leave the Album field blank. In nearly all cases, this stops them from appearing in the Albums view as an 'Unknown Album'. But for some songs - those purchased from iTunes - they still show up in the Albums view (and in fairly random points as well - seems to be no logic as to where in the alphabetical list they appear). Kind of makes sense, given that iTunes knows those songs are part of an album, but how can I stop them from appearing the Albums view? To me, they're just a single song.

Have stripped all info from the Album, disc/track number and Sort Album fields under 'Get Info', but this doesn't do the trick.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT for clarification - the 'Albums' view I refer to is on my iPhone, running iOS 5.1.

I haven't actually done this myself because id have too sift through 10000 tracks, but i would think that if you went through your whole library and selected all the songs that aren't part of a complete album and just set all their album infos to the same name, your album view wouldn't have any unknown albums in it. Just one massive album will all the songs that aren't part of a complete album in it. Should make your album view look nice and tidy. Let me know if it works 🙂
