iPhone 3GS 3G problem

Hello

I have a 3 year old iPhone 3GS 16GB running iOS 5.1 and for some unknown reason this morning the 3G on it decided not to work. When I had 5/5 bars it was using the edge network instead of the 3G network. Then I got to work and in spots that I normally get 3G I was getting edge.

I know that there used to be a problem with the network but I thought Apple fixed that with iOS 4.2

Any help you can offer is appreciated!!

Have you ruled out the possibility of the carrier having the issue with 3G?

My connection is fixed now.

What I did was go to AT&T's website and go under wireless support. they had an app on the app store that i had to download and then the app does the rest and reports it to AT&T. After reporting the problem to them it took about an hour and a half before i got 3G and it has stayed that way since then.

I am sure if u went to O2's website that they would have a similar idea.

I was able to fix this problem by going on the AT&T website. They have an app dedicated to reporting problems... this has come in very handy in the past couple of months. The App is FREE and is called Mark the Spot. Once entering in your information AT&T fixes it promptly. For me it has usually been within a few hours. I definalty recommend this app to anyone using AT&T.
