Any tricks out there for Mac 10.7 users for opening an xps file from Windows 7?
I found a suggestion on dogpile.com search that suggested opening the .XPS file in a google email account and opening it with "viewer" instead of downloading it. Once in viewer, click the print document icon in the upper window tool bar and it can be downloaded as a PDF file to your Mac at that point. It worked for me but I was only opening a 4 page file.
Daniel Holt's response is entirely incorrect, but he persists in posting that eroneous information.
Graphic Converter can convert about 200 different graphic files, but XPS is not one of them:

probably because XPS are not graphic files.
I wrote an entire article on XPS file, and I am using iMac. Here's the article: All About XPS files. If you don't want to download any XPS tool or plugins, I'd recommend you to view the file through Google Docs.
XPS is able to be read if the appropriate Adobe Acrobat Pro plugin is installed on certain applications. I have to wonder if Daniel's suggestion works in the present of such a plugin with GraphicConverter?
I downloaded & installed the current edition of GraphicConverter today, which overrode the previous version. It was able to open and convert a file with .xps extension.
I have checked the installed plugins for GC & there are none.
And, if you do not have or want Google Drive, mail the .xps file as an attachment to your Gmail account.
Use the web Gmail access. You will be offered an opportunity to view the .xps (Google Docs will do this for you) file attachment from Gmail. Once it displays the .xps contents on the screen, you will have an option in the related File menu to print as PDF.
Now, it will image in Safari as a PDF file, which can then be saved locally. Also works for the Adobe PDF plug-in.
I am not a Mac guy, I have been using windows for a long time, but I recently bought a macbook pro for a extremley low price from family. Anyways, Graphic Converter had never been opened before. Anyways it opened with version 5.4.1 REV 2, it did open the .XPS file I needed. However, it was very small, I zoomed in 400% and the document was not readable. I have been trying some other things so I can read my EIN number off this .XPS Document. But I havent found any effects or changes that I can do to be able to read it. I am upgrading to the current version now, hopefully that will give me some new options. Just incase, does anyone have any Ideas? For the person That said you could not open .XPS documents, probaly downloaded a .XPS doc that had been compressed using WinZip. I found that after downoading a WinZip compressed file, the Macbook Pro 10.6.8 does not show any zip images or tell you this file is compressed without doing a little more investigation than using Windows. I gues thats why it's called WINzip. Even though they have a Macitosh version which is always getting better.
A simple workaround: Upload the file to Google Docs (now Google Drive) and you can view/print from there or download to a .pdf file! Simple.

that is a 38.00 solution (purchasing graphic converter) to solve a 34.00 problem..(downloading pagemark XPS viewer)
Yes it does. Graphic converter is able to open .xps files and then you can save it as a PDF file to keep it accessible in your Mac. (using Graphic Converte 8)
