Charging iPhone 4s

When I plug my iPhone 4s in to charge the apple logo will appear as if it is restarting, but 4-5 seconds later it will disappear. 4-5 seconds later it will reappear, so on and so forth. Any Suggestions?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1
