i dont have a apple care box the sprint guy didnt give me the box or the number i dont think

The serial number is in Settings/General/About.

On the Apple support site, click Apple Care registration (in the AppleCare block), then on the next page insert your serial number.

i bought this from someone only its froze in the usb mode its a ipod touch 3gen 32 gigs the serial # is 9c******6k2. help plz thnx

Please don't post the serial number on this site. What USB mode are you talking about? Do you have a Connect to iTunes screen?

yes when i plug into comp it doesnt sync,someone told me it had to be

"jailbroke"

it will only turn on when plugged in and even then its froze on pic of usb pointing to itunes logo

So did you jailbreak it? The advice you heard is completely incorrect. Jailbreaking is a hack that can brick your device or make it otherwise unusable. Try to restore it to a clean working state by putting it in Recovery Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808, and avoid jailbreaking at all costs.

thats good to know ,i havent done anything but hold the home n standby buttons down, i couldnt figure the "jailbreak" thing out, thankfully. im really clueless at these sorts of things,so if you wouldnt mind i might need a blow by blow
