My iphone videos won't play properly on my windows xp laptop

I downloaded videos from my iphone to my laptop which runs on windows xp. But the videos won't play properly on my laptop - they play in some sort of slow motion.

Can someone please help me? I searched high and low on the web and couldn't find any answers. Thanks.

Videos loaded onto an iPhone are usually in Apple's .m4v format, which is sort of like a container for the Audio and Video segments held together. It is common for older Windows OS to not recognize this. Try downloading a .m4v to wmv converter. wmv is the default Windows video format and will definitely work on XP.
