how do I create a provisioning profile?

Hi,

I have a number of enterprise apps created for my company. They are not available from iTunes, they are downloaded from an internal site. The problem I've encountered is, when I create a profile using the iPhone configuration Utility I can create a profile for all apps except the company apps.

I have taken the approach of creating a backup of the preferred iPad content. This includes the company apps.

However, if I wipe the iPad to prepare it for another iPad user the internal company apps do not reappear after syncing the iPad with the "master backup" or after applying the configuration Profile I have created.

Does anyone know how to create a Provisioning profile for these company apps?

Thanks

David

This is probably out of reach, but we use the JAMF Software Server to push apps and provisioning profiles with internal apps. You'd need a server to set it up on, an SSL cert and externally resolvable DNS. It's a bit of a stretch likely for your needs, but if this is an ongoing thing with a large scale deployment, you may want to look into the Mobile Device Management/iOS Management portion: http://www.jamfsoftware.com/

You can also use Lion Server profile manager built into Lion. If you have the hardware Lion is less than $50.

If you are an IOS Enterprise Developer.

Gyrhead, maybe you can assist me regarding a separate issue I've been having. We have an application that we've developed in-house for internal use only. When we take the IPA file and load it into a Profile Manager profile it saves properly. Then, when the profile attempts to apply the application to an enrolled device the installation stops about halfway through and cites that it cannot be installed. Is there anything else you need to do other then loading in the .ipa file into profile manager? I have a separate thread started for this if you'd like to respond there. Thanks in advance!
