Q: ipad cellular stops working

My cellular data connection stops working after about 1 day.  I still show a strong cell signal but until I shutdown and restart the iPad it will not be able to start a cellular data connection.  Turning the data connection off then on does not solve the problem.  This has been going on since I bought the iPad in early April.  I have the 64GB AT&T model.

iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iOS 5.1, AT&T LTE

Interesting, it could be a many number of things. If you tend to run lots of apps and not close them your memory maxing out can cause any number of bugs, typically app crashes etc; it's a good idea to occasionally reset the phone, or force quit apps, or power off/on the device.

Additionally, it could be software or hardware related: if it's software related, you may want to try restoring your iPad to factory settings, since a backup wouldn't help if it's always been doing this issue - see the support KB on setting up as new:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137

Lastly, if that doesn't fix the device: you may actually have a hardware defect and you'll need to take this to an Apple Certified Technician (or Apple Store/Genius Bar).

Good luck, and let me know if you still have additional questions, or if I helped you by replying or indicating with the buttons below.

I have the exact same iPad and the exact same problem, its freaking driving me crazy, each time it goes out its says in safari: could not activate cellular data or safari lost the connection, I restart it but after ten minutes or so it stops. And until i dont restart it the cellular data doesnt work, plus when the cellular data IS finally working its very very slow. Have you gotten any help or answers... Thanks!

I have the same model and same problem. I usually close all my apps when I'm done using the iPad and if I don't there's never more than 2-3 apps running. After a short time of inactivity I have to restart the iPad to get cellular back. It's driving me nuts.
