Have you kept your system up-to-date? If so you are running BootCamp 4.0 see HERE This indicates that the only version of WIndows you can install is Windows 7.To see if you have BootCamp 4.0 open the BootCamp Assistant>select BootCamp from the menu bar>now select About BootCamp Assistant. There you will be able to see the version of BootCamp you are running. Anything 4.0 and above only accepts Win7.

Up to date does not always mean a new OS, not everyone is on Lion. Still would be up to date 10.6.8+.

People have posted that they were no longer able to install XP (or Vista) on same computer and OS as they had in the past. not sure what the reason is. It isn't about BC 4 though. It might be EFI snuck in.

In theory it should be able. When people do upgrade to Lion, and had XP or Vista, the trick was to clone their 10.6.8 system to external drive and upgrade the external to Lion (or do clean install of Lion there) and then restore the new system to the internal hard drive.

you may need to install 10.6.8 on an external drive or clone to it and reformat and restore. BUT... I am not sure why in this type case.

I appreciate everyone taking the time to respond to my post that being said I would also like to state they are not useful or helpful in any way. The fact that Win XP is quote old and unsupported does not even come close to being helpful and time to change is your opinon not mine telling me to bit the bullet is not helping unless you are going to give me $100 dollars to do so. Further more I am not a novice user of any cpu platform and I stated twice that I have bootcamp 3.0.4 on 10.6.8 I am not ignorant to my machines software or hardware status please assume that I have taken the proper steps before asking for assistance. Please keep opinons and feeling to yourself and address the issue that I have stated. I do not mean to be so stern but I dont want it to turn into a frenzy of opinon and noting gets answered like the other posts. Thank in advance.

You could also install a virtualizer and install XP. These are the three most used, who do the job: Virtualbox(free), Parallels Desktop(paid), VMware(paid). You can run more virtual machines and different OS with those Virtalizers.

Although it indeed is time to go to W7, there are situation where you do not have a choice and must be running XP.

Sorry I didn't read the fine print. Anyway's open Disk Utility Select your HDD (it's usually at the very top) from the left menu bar, making sure to NOT select Macintosh HD! Select Partition You will see a white rectangle, and on the bottom you will see a + symbol select Free Space from the format menu, and label it BOOTCAMP in all caps. Let it partition, and once done, insert the Windows XP disk, and restart. Hold down Option at start up. When you get to the select a HD option in the Windows set-up make sure to select BOOTCAMP it will format accordingly. Once in windows insert your Mac OS disk, and install Windows Drivers, problem solved!

Thank you this will probably fix my issue except for one thing I have been looking for my Mac OS disk for about a week now. Then I remembered it is in my box... which was in my basement which flooded last fall and ruined it lol. So I pose this qustion to you and this will seal the deal where else can I get those WIn xp 32bit drivers from?
