I can't remember my password and have no disk to recover the system. If I replace my OS X 10.5 with Snow Leopard will I need a password to install the new software?

If you have a Snow Leopard DVD, I believe you can boot from that and reset the password to your account, though I haven't tried it. Unless you're willing to erase the drive and do a completely fresh installation of Mac OS X, though, it's your only option unless you can find a 10.5 installer disk somewhere, so it's worth a try. For details, see: "Resetting the original administrator account password" on this page:

Thanks alot, I'm new to the Apple world and I got a great deal on this Macbook but with no disks. I'll give it a try when I get home.
