First you need to determine if your Apple TV is running iOS 5 or a previous software version. iOS 5 has an interface with rows of buttons across the screen, previous versions had a more menu like layout.

• Press the menu button on the remote several times to make sure you are on the main screen.
• Navigate to the menu on the far right hand side.
• Select the first option in that menu.
• Scroll down the next menu that appears and choose the 4th option from the bottom.
• Select your language from the list available.
