Q: Logging Back in to Account After Using Root User

Hello All,

After enabling the root user and logging into that account I tried to log back into my regular user and found that everything was set back to default. No files, pictures, anything...

Going into the Users folder I can see my account and it has all of the files on the desktop and such.

How do I log back into my regular user account with all of my settings?

Thanks

    Greetings,

Logging in as the Root user should not cause this behavior unless you made some kind of modifications to the system while in root.

If you found your user folder in /Users/ and your files are present then this should be fairly easy to correct.

Follow this article to rename that folder which has your files in it and re-take ownership of it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1428

Once complete you can log out of Root and then login as the newly renamed account.

    Cheers.
