Clearing app cache?

Unfortunately i-FunBox is not available in the official App store. I did use CM Security app which helps in cleaning up the cache from e.g. the Facebook app (although you don't see it immidiately it brought mine back from 450MB to 110MB).

Why would you want to clear your cache for those apps? Hopefully you are not confusing your storage space with RAM and caches...

Usually you would just want to suspend/kill the app by using the "multi-task" clearer (Home button, press down on the screen until the red ➖ comes up)

The increase just makes it easier for your app to perform as expected, which you probably already knew.

In the stock iOS world, you do not have that much control. You'll need to either configure the settings within the App, or uninstall/reinstall it.

Pinterest has done a bad job creating the app (cache wise). They did not put a cache limit therefore it never deletes any data whatsoever. As of now, you have to manually delete the app and reinstall it. My gf's phone had over 3 GBs!

The new Google Maps (for example) on the other hand did a great job on their caching. They put the limit at 100 MBs. That way you can use GPS navigation and street view all over the world and it will never increase after 100 MBs! After it reaches 100 MBs, it just deletes the oldest cache files.

Yes, It's normal. It's the app's original size. The installer is just compressed and that's the size when they are uncompressed when installed. Wait, did you include Spotify? If you included spotify, try Imakiel's procedure in deleting cache.

This was a problem for myself... But if you sign out from the likes of Facebook and sign back in again, it should clear the documents and data at some point.

This does work for me time to time, but seems to be the only way other than using a pc or deleting app to clear the cache.

I have the same problem.

Facebook has 90mb cached, but Real Racing 3 which is a 22mb app, has 1.3GB cached!!

I hardly use the game, but don't want rid of it.

How do I clear that large cache then? If I uninstall it uninstalls and deletes all data so I use my way in the game.

Dropbox is the same. 350mb of data and I don't see how to clear it.

If I unlink, and then link again, does it then go to try to add my pics again?

It's indeed odd that Apple doesn't come up with a solution (let's hope in the next iOS update) where it automatically clears this cache for all apps to have more storage space. Or that you can delete this cache per app within Settings or directly in the settings of an app (which is possible in some apps already).

I hated that i needed to do this on Android because the phone became too slow. In the case of my iPhone it isn't a matter of speed but storage space which is used up.

My mistake Simon you are right. I still think it is still not the easiest way to clear cache. Apple should but something in in their iOS or every app should have the option to clear cache (as some apps already can).

I tend to run it once a month, or if I am bored!!

The only flaw in it, is it won't delete cache from BBM. If you clear Chat history, and clear it from iFunBox, it stiill sometimes keeps around 200MB used. Don't know why.

I friend suggested an app which does similar work, that is, it clears the app cache and also frees the RAM memory. It's called "CM Security". I still didn't install it. Try it once if you want to!

Hey Hey .... iPhone means $$$ and apple means businness. how can they force you to buy a 32 or 64 GB phone if you are able to simply clean the cache like in an unexpensive android phone?

That's nice. But Phone Clean isn't available in Indian App Store I guess, I searched it but didn't find it, idk why. But anyways, CM Security has delivered its best to me and that's the only option for me.

If anyone is still looking for a way to do this, there is a fantastic app I have found called 'Magic Cleaner' on the App Store which has been developed by a guy called 'Daniel Anderson'. It has cleared 2GB of crap from apps like Facebook and Twitter.

Apple should really have a way of dealing with this, it is such a waste of space.
