Quit iTunes, reboot your PC and then connect the iPad again and see if the update message is gone.
On your iPad go to Settings>General>About>Version - see what it says in there. If it says that you are running iOS 5.1 then you are OK.

Dictation is only currently available on the new iPad, it won't appear as an option for the iPad 2
I have a problem with my IPad 2..The problem is updated via iTunes...I have updated my IPad 2 ..but when I checked in iTunes...it still shows..IOS 5.1...but when select updated button ..it shows updated your iPad .. But it is in IOS 5.1..so how can do ??
