I would like to use my iPhone as a bedside clock at night, but it keeps going to sleep. Is there a way to keep the clock face on while charging? Thanks in advance.

I have used any number of clock apps that stay on as long as the phone is plugged in. My current favorite is WaveAlarm. Alarmed is also excellent.

I use the magical Disappearing Bedside Clock app that shows the time whenever I want with a wave of my hand, but keeps the room dark otherwise.
Then your Auto-Lock setting is probably putting it to sleep. Settings > General > Auto-Lock > Never. Note that this will deplete the battery faster since the display will constantly be on.
