How can I add Lion?

I have been trying to download Lion to my iMac for over 4 hours. There is just the app store screen for Lion with a mac turning wheel indicating that it is, apparently, doing something.

My broadband speed here is not that good - just over 2mbs download speed- but should be enough to have downloaded the 3+Gb of Lion in that time.

Any help? Thanks.
