Apple TV as a Monitor?

I bought an AppleTV 3rd Gen. Today.

I set everything up and have been using it for a few hours now without a problem.

Now I was wondering if I can use my TV together with the AppleTV device to see the same thing as I see on my Macbook Pro.

I would like to use it like if I just would connect my Laptop with the TV trough an HDMI Cable.

Is that even possible?
