I have an iBook G4, 14" model

I have an iBook G4, 14" model # A1134, serial # 4H******SE6 and I need a power cord. This is an older laptop and the battery is shot. Any ideas as where to buy one?

These used to be available from the Apple Store online, the battery as well as replacement original equipment power adapters for both the iBook G4 12" & 14" models. Now I don't see either one as these slip into obscurity.

You may have to check online at 'other world computing' and see if what they have will fit your budget and hope these items are what it takes to keep the iBook G4 14" unit you have operating correctly. You could call or email that company, in addition to searching their site for product information. I've had no good or productive results from any attempts to resolve issues with my Macs (going back 155+ computers) with the OWC company; so I am not endorsing them, their products, or anything. But their site can help you look around for quality replacement items; and be sure to avoid those super-cheap knock-offs since they can be bad for your iBook.

Hopefully this helps somewhat.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂

Another source of authorized trained technical help as well as repair and replacement parts for portable Apple computers in your region (North Carolina) could be a highly regarded company by the name of wegener media & if you put those two words together and add dot com, that's their web site. I've had very good experience with them by Mail, across the continent from Alaska; they have good personable customer service, too.

They can also repair in-warranty issues (if you drop a Macbook, for example, and that damage isn't under AppleCare) that otherwise may void the rest of an original warranty; they are qualifed and have many parts.

Thought I should add this; although they do have parts and power adapters, their better price on these usually is part of a package when one is seeking to buy a refurbished computer from their stock. From reports on NewerTech batteries, the OWC company may be the best way to go since the specs suggest longer battery life. However, distant/regional issues of my dealings with OWC by email and phone suggest a limited ability of them to be competitive this far away from their main customer base.

So, I've looked elsewhere for replacement parts, RAM, drives & external backup devices. I have OWC products that have failed, in boxes here. They don't offer answers or support them now. And while my iBook G4 (mid-2005) 12" portable computer is in the market, too, for a replacement battery, I am saddened by OWC's odd web page and phone ordering issues. And I can't use the OWC products I already have. They've become inert...!!

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂

For the record, I have never had a problem with OWC.

I've bought four external hard drives from them, all still working.

I've found their customer service more than adequate.

I had ordered a replacement battery for my MacBook from them, and had no problem canceling the order (which was on back-order) when Apple ended up replacing the battery for me.
