Can't export or share in Final Cut Pro X

Hi. Brand new to FCPX, this is my first project. I imported a project from iMovie, finished editing it in FCPX, and wanted to export/share it. The menu is completely grayed-out, and the keyboard command (Command-E) does nothing. What am I missing?

I need a FCPX expert to the rescue. I am unable to export or render files in timeline. It doesn't render period. I have already checked the background rendering options and messed with this fort the past six hours. So trust me I have tried everything before coming here to bug you. I did do housekeeping yewsterday and deleted a library of movies friom the hard drive. This was around 500 GB of past video content which I have backed up on External HD. Heres a screenshot

Can anyone offer any suggestionsUser uploaded file

I've seen these post a few times now and people keep saying to trash the app and reinstall, but for most this doesn't fix anything. What it seems to be is an issue with your footage in the events. Check the footage your working with in the event manager. Look for little symbols of cameras over the footage. For some reason you will have to reimport the archived footage before you can export. I'm not exactly sure why, but I had to clear a lot of my hard drive off to pull the big files from my external, which isn't how I expected final cut to work. I think, it thinks that the footage is on a camera rather then on an external. That's what the problem I have to figure out.

Can you explain what you mean further mate? I don't quite understand this, and I have the same problem. I have videos Ive downloaded off of Youtube, as Im making a compilation package for something, but, again, it wont let me export it.

Tried starting a new project and importing the fgiles one by one off my desktop but that didnt work either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Me three

-- I have this problem with a project that renders perfectly and plays back in FCPx. It is showing me a '!' warning but not showing me where the problem is. I've already shared the project once.

After a client meeting I did some more colour grading and changed the sizes of all the titles -- now no share menu (greyed out).

In desparation, I resorted to screenium to copy the project whilst having FCPx play in full screen mode --- Now double mad is that!
