Sep 24, 2014 11:21 AM in response to Sidelinesby the_9th,I just wanted to chime in on this one - since I stumbled on this thread trying to find an answer - someone mentioned "special characters"
It got me thinking could something as simply as "(" ")" cause this problem? The answer is YES. The sender used parenthesis in the subject.
I opened the ICS file in my text editor remove the parenthesis - saved it - double clicked on it again - and it opened with no issue. So basically, something that simple choked the appointment. A simple fix - but an unnecessary problem -
Hopefully this helps someone else.

Sep 30, 2014 7:34 AM in response to the_9thby c.carter2008,I was wondering if anyone could possibly offer some suggestions. I've been getting the following error message for the past week or so ever since I installed the latest software update on my Mac at work:
Access to “Calendar” in account “Yahoo!” is not permitted.
The server responded:
“403”
to operation CalDAVDeleteEntityQueueableOperation.
It pops up whenever I change the calendar type or need to type in notes. Prior to installing the update I had no problem using the Calendar. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this annoying message would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Oct 20, 2014 11:11 PM in response to Sidelinesby Geeks,----------------------SOLUTION------------------
I think I have figured out the problem. What I am about to mention fixed the problem for me.
The problem was occurring for me because of different time zone setting which was embedded into each event. For some reason iCloud Calendar does not take embedded time zones. So I thought of how to remove the time zones. There are two ways I can think of, and I tried the first on and it worked. Here is how:
1. Import calendar file to On My Mac (Not iCloud). If you already have a calender on On My Mac, skip to 2.
2. Export the calendar and save the file.
3. Now open the saved calendar in Outlook.
- I used Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.1
> In Outlook go to File > Open & Export > Open Calendar
- This will fix the time zone discrepancies automatically from every event.
And if it still persists, Outlook will let you know to fix it manually for certain events.
4. Export calendar from Outlook
> In Outlook go to File > Save Calendar
- Check out the More Options button before saving to make sure all the event details are being saved
5. Now click on the exported calendar file to open in iCal or Calendar and save it to iCloud location.
This should not give you an error any more.
The other way I was thinking but never tried was to export the file from On My Mac and open the file in a text editor and remove the time zone from all the entires. That could hypothetically work too.

Nov 2, 2014 2:28 PM in response to Geeksby hlovatt,I found for me that if I exported the calendar, file -> export -> calendar archive, then imported the exported calendar, file -> import, the problem went away

Nov 4, 2014 6:30 AM in response to Sidelinesby MikelusAngelus,Workaround: 04Nov,2014
Status: OSX-Yosemite (means Apple did not care about this issue since long ago)
Steps:
1. Add event in iCalc (generating the error messagge "The server responded...")
2. Copy the event
3. Delete invited address inside the cloned event
4. Delete the original added event (from step 1, be sure to delete this not the cloned one)
Remarks:
1. After applying this workaround I refreshed calendars several times, no more error messagge appears.
2. I did not test if step 3 is absolute necessary (i was in rush and upset due this issue)
3. JIC, iCalc was with the "show Declined Events" on.
OK, probably the inviting party miss your confirmation but....better than nothing.
Regards
Mike

Dec 2, 2014 12:04 PM in response to MikelusAngelusby Kevin Strong,This worked for me. Also Yosemite, but has been occurring way before that update.
And it also worked without step 3.
Just needed to Duplicate the event, and when I did that the duplicate event opened, with Delete and Send buttons at the bottom. Selected Send. The 403 error then popped up again. Hit Ignore. Delete the original event. Refreshed Calendars (cmd-R). 403 error no longer pops up.
And the event now shows up in my iPhone calendar since it is now correctly being stored in iCloud.

Dec 22, 2014 12:23 PM in response to Emil Indricauby tahoerover,NOTHING WORKS to get rid of this error in Yosemite. What is going on with Apple. Why can't they fix this. As much as I hate Microsoft I think I'm going to switch to Outlook. At least it works without all these errors.

Dec 27, 2014 11:09 PM in response to the_9thby SilverHawke,This worked for me perfectly. I removed the hyphen in the heading of the invite by the Apple Store by the way and it worked. No error message now.

Dec 28, 2014 8:09 AM in response to Emil Indricauby tahoerover,It did not work for me. Here is my problem
- I have several calendars
- One of them is named "business" and this seems to be the problem calendar
- Often I (or my husband) will put "no plans" on the calendar so we do not book any events on that day / night.
- There are MANY of the "no plans" events on the calendars over the last couple of years.
- I searched for all the "no plans" and some of them were on the business calendar and some of them were on the "home calendar" Since the business calendar is the one that gives the error I changed ALL of the "no plans" that were on the business calendar to the home calendar thinking this would get rid of the error.
- It did not get rid of the error and none of the work arounds that people have given me here seem to work.
- Any other suggestions.........I just don't know what to do and this error pops up at least 2 times per each event I enter into my calendar no matter what the event or which calendar I use.

Jan 7, 2015 6:59 AM in response to Sidelinesby Druski,Hi All,
I disabled Calendar syncing in iCloud preferences then restarted Calendar about 5 times. Then I re-enabled syncing and so far it works for me.
