Unable to install new Lion upgrade

Go up to the Apple symbol in the top left of your menu and go to About This Mac and see if your computer meets these specs for Lion

OK, how big is your Hard Drive and how much free space do you have left? And how many partitions are you running at present? (eg Bootcamp etc.)

Go to Applications > Utilities > DiskUtility and open that up. What do you see in the left hand column?

When you hear the bong sound push and hold the option key.

If the Recovery partition exists it will be one of the options for boot.

Did it give you the option to go into the Recovery Partition?

I'm presuming that you are trying to reinstall Lion. Is this correct?

I paid the $30 to upgrade to Lion, i keep getting the recovery error.

So when you boot up and you hold down the Command+R key you don't get into the recovery partition of the hard drive?

If you don't see the recovery partition then you may have deleted that partition somehow.

If that is the case you are going to need to get someone to make a recovery USB flash stick that has all the files on it that the recovery partition usually contains. With that you can boot the computer, WIPE the drive and re-install Lion. Other than that, I am really out of ideas here.

Are you trying to update from Snow Leopard to Lion? Or have you had Lion installed before this problem, just to be clear.
