custom settings
Why is it that whenever I create a custom setting and save it I could not find it when I relaunch Compressor?
It always starts with custom settings 0.

I don't have that problem, but a related one. In Compressor I can save and reuse my Custom settings, but in FCP X when I choose Share->Export With Compressor Settings... the Custom settings aren't there. There is a Custom folder, but it says 0 items, when there are really about 8.
Do you start by duplicating a pre-set, making the settings adjustments you need, naming it and verifying that the new preset – with the correct name – is located in the Custom folder before you quit Compressor?

Russ - yes, that is exactly what I do.
David,
My guess is that your issue is FCPX-related – quite apart from Marjopar's issue.
To your question: yes; sharing – either by send to Compressor, or Compressor Settings – should give you access to custom settings. Perhaps a corrupted preference file? Suggest you trash FCPX preferences, using Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager. If that doesn't help, I'd post in the FCPX discussion forum.
Good luck.

That is what I do also. I select a preset from the custom settings, change it the way I need to, give it another name and save it. In fact while I am still on compressor it is shown as a custom preset. But as soon as I quit compressor and reload it again, there is nothing to see.
This has been reported before, but I have never been able to duplicate it and I haveno idea what's going on. People get tired of the same old advice but a good place to start is following Apple's recommended troubleshooting steps. If none of these work, try running thisrepair tool before taking the step of uninstalling and reinstalling.
Good luck.
Russ
I tried the troubleshooting steps, I tried the repair tool. Nothing seems to work. I guess what remains is to uninstall Compressor and install it again.
Ok, I uninstalled compressor and installed it again. Now it is working. Thanks to everyone.
