firepass webaccess protocol

I started getting this error too when I let my iMac update to the latest OS (Siera 10.12.6 and Safari 11.0).

It is really frustrating, the error comes up frequently when I try to login to work. After several attempts I can usually get in, but this takes some time.

When I let these updates in Apple also removed all of my Java security settings, which I had to setup again.

I got the same error when I upgraded from macOS Sierra to macOS High Sierra and tried to login to my corporate portal that allow us to do Remote Desktop.

I managed to login into portal by login into my MacBook via a new user. I mean after upgrade my usual login started throwing this "Firepass web access protocol error" but I enabled a second user on my MacBook and login using this second user allows me to login to my corporate portal.

I guess the macOS upgrade has broken some user settings/configuration for existing user.

I already had "Enable content blockers" unticked but I still have the issue.

The annoying thing is that the error doesn't always happen: sometimes I get the error just a couple of times before it works, other times it can be five times.

Do Apple read these questions? I could do with an explanation of the error from them.

I too had the same problem. I went to Developer tools and did a search for 'Firepass'?

It pointed me to cache-fm.php- Hence I deleted the Cache of Safari- Develop--> Empty Cache.

This time it made me login to my Workstation remotely.

Hi sadhurveda, I've tried that and have successfully logged into to my corporate desktop a couple of times without any further Firepass errors. I'll need to do some further tests to be confident the problem is solved but so far it looks good.

That's really a question for your network administrator, but you might find something useful in the "More Like This" section at right.

I have never heard of "Firepass," so I'm afraid I can't be of any further help.

Try Safari -> Settings for This Website...

Untick 'Enable content blockers'..worked for me.
