You don’t use any menu.
Select the iPhone icon at top.
You click the checkmark in from off the playlist name so the checkmark is not there.
This deselects it.
Thanks for trying to help me. I do not want the playlist removed from Itunes.. only from the Ipod. I followed your suggestion, but it seems to be for removing a playlist from Itunes, not selectively from one Ipod. 🙂
so I ask again, IS THERE A WAY TO REMOVE A PLAYLIST FROM AN IPOD, LEAVING IT IN ITUNES?
thank you,
That's exactly what roamingnome has told you how to do it.
The playlist is still in iTunes (left hand menus ), but it is unchecked against the device when the device is connected to iTunes. ( withing the music tab on the iPod.

Select the iPod in iTunes then click the Music tab. This ONLY for syncing what is the iPod.
It will NOT affect what is in iTunes.
Well, I just did it, and it DID remove the file from my iTunes' playlists. Fortunately, being a cautious guy, I deleted a file called "testing". It contained things I didn't need, but if I had needed them, they'd be gone forever.

Deselecting something on the music tab after selecting the iDevice, will not delete anything from iTunes.

Since you are "cautious", perhaps you should reread this entire thread.
Why did you delete anything? No one suggested this...
Okay, I'm game, so I've now created another playlist entitled TEST. I've also placed a song in it. Now, first, what do you mean by "deselect"? I now see that I misread it as "DELETE", but I don't know what "deselect" means. Oh, yes, I have downloaded the song to my iPod. Now my test will be to delete it from my iPod but not from my iTunes library. Oh, one last thing, I have been doing all of this manually, and my iTunes Preferrences still shows "Prevent iPod, iPhone, and iPod from syncing automatically".
Open itunes.
Connect ipod.
Go to music tab.
Deselect the playlist.
Sync.
3rd times a charm.
I have the same question; however, when it comes to "deselect" the playlist, I cannot find that word on any menu....only "delete."
