How do I add and delete Finder Favorites

In the Finder window you can create Favorites - folders you want easy access to.

Now I'm ready to delete a few of these "Favorites"

The Finder doesn't seem to want me to. It seems to want to trash the actual folders that these finder favorite aliases are pointing to.

How do I delete a Finder FAvorite?

I'm sure it's so simple. Apple Help menu was no help

Thanks for the heads up.

I use a MacBook Pro tethered to a desktop array of backup drives, a 20" screen and an external keyboard from some unknown previous generarion

Across the room is my old PowerBook G4 similarly set up.

If I look at the 2 old keyboards and the Powerbook keyboard, that key still has the squiggley on it and the apple logo.

Only when I squint over this keyboard at the actual keyboard of the MacBook Pro do I see the truth in your statement. Clearly printed on that key is the word "command"

Well bless my stars.

You taught me something else today

Thanks again

Steve

I'm going out to buy a new keyboard for my MacBook Pro anyway. Th "e" key doesn't work well on this old kyboard. 🙂

But, my friend, there is no "Command" key on an Apple Keyboard, technically speaking.

Friend, the key is labeled "Command" on all English Apple-brand keyboards, at least, including the three I have sitting right next to me, and is so identified in all of Apple's English documentation that I've seen and has been so for years. For example:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1343

Other languages may identify it differently.

stopped being afraid of adopting a windows convention and began actually enscribing "com" on the "command key" in place of that squggly thing.

There is no "COM" key on any of our Windows keyboards and I have about forty of them, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Anyway, glad you got it sorted.

Varjak, thanks. I should have guessed

there's an apple key. It also known as the key with that funny shaped thingy on it.

may it's time that apple admitted success and stopped being afraid of adopting a windows convention and began actually enscribing "com" on the "command key" in place of that squggly thing.

But thanks again. I've got it now.
