Why can I not force Itunes to download movies purchased on my Apple TV in HD????

Why can I not force Itunes to download movies purchased on my Apple TV in HD? I know that I can't watch them on my computer! I want to download them to keep from having to wait 2 to 3 hours on them to download onto my Apple TV every time I want to watch!
