syncing with exchange limiting contacts

I have too many contacts in Exchange (outlook). I've created mulitple groups but both sync on my phone then overload my MBZ head unit. I want to only sync a subset of contacts. It appears there maybe a way to sync a group from the phone but my phone isn't recongnizing my two different groups/folders on the PC? Anyone had this issue? Thanks!
