I can't download new updates

I get a prompt saying that a new version of Itunes or Icloud is available. I click "Ok", then get prompted by windows to verify that I do indeed want to install the update. I again click yes. The computer then looks like it's going to start downloading the update, but instead it brings me back to the first step saying "updates are available." Is anyone else having this trouble ?
