Q: I have an iPad 3 AT & T and am interested in getting a data plan.  Based on what AT & T told me today, I would loose any unused GB after 30 days.  Does anyone have one wherein you pay as you go but not until you have used up all your GB's.

    First, no.

None of the telco's offer hat you want.

    Secondly, Lose.

You would lose any unused GB's, not loose.

2 different words with totally different meanings.

Thanks much Johnathan.  I have struggled with that word. Now it's ingrained in my mind. Thanks and take care.

Consider your actual needs.  My friend has an iPhone.  We were concerned about having enough data with 2GB (I think that's what it is from AT&T).  She says in 5 months of having the phone she has never come anywhere near needing it all.  She mostly does e-mail and web browsing.  Pretty much all of it with her data plan.  No movie downloads or anything.

Consider doing your heavy Internet use when connected with wifi which is not part of the data usage.  Anything like Facetime or uploading to iCloud would be over wifi.

I have heard that although some companies offer unlimited data, they actually start throttling (slowing down the connection) once you get past a certain amount. Slimy but that's how they work.
