I need to restore os9 on a powerbook G4 aluminium. Install disk 2 is damaged. Can I use the disk that came with 10.3?

My install disk 2 (for a PB Aluminium 1.67) containing the classic support is damaged.

I have a Powerbook G4 Mac OS 9 Install disk that came with a Titanium (OSX install disk 10.1.4) so can I use this to reinstall

OS9 on the PB ALUMINIUM?

G5 PB, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

It might & shouldn't cause a problem if it doesn't work.

If you just want to run classic mode, copy the System Folder from another Mac that has OS 9.1 (or better with 9.2.1 or 9.2.2) installed. A USB thumb dive works great for this. Transfer the folder to your Mac. It won't interfere with your OS X system which is in a folder titled System. (You can't copy OS 9.x from the install disc.)

Cheers, Tom 😉
