You probably (with a good backup of course and with iPhoto not running) delete the -tmp-iPhoto folder - it probably would work and clear this problem and if it did not youo could restore the folder from your backup
I think I figured out the issue.
Last week I tried to uninstall the QuickTime app and that screwed up both iTunes and iPhone. Since I deleted some plug-ins from lib I have recovered them all and it works. Both iTunes and iPhone are now up and running :-/
Shall I ask you how to unistall the QuickTime?. Please let me know if I should raise a new Question for that.
