Print does not work in Aperture

In Aperture's guide in order to print a book you need to follow the procedures below:
  1. In the Library inspector, select a book album.
  2. Choose File > Print Book (or press Command-P).
  3. In the Print dialog, choose Save as PDF from the PDF pop-up menu. The Save dialog appears.
  4. Enter a name for the PDF file and choose a location to save the file, then click Save.

Ok, I select a specific Book in the Library Inspector an than I press Command P or go to the menu and click on print. The problem is....nothing happens. What is going on?

Try the Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics, if you have not done so. It is obvious, that something is wrong. Since the Graphical User Interface does not react, start with removing the Aperture Preferences files from the User Library, see the Paragraph: "Delete the user preferences".

If that does not help, repair the permissions and repair the library with the "Aperture Library First Aid tools"; start with "Repair Permissions".

Post back, if that does not solve the problem.

"at least the print-to-pdf should be possible."

Yes your right about that. I miss read your post and thought that you were able to save as PDF. Just for testing do you have another library that you can put a fast book together and see if it works there? That way you will know if it has anything to doing with the image files them self or where they are located. Just a thought.

Which Aperture version did you downgrade to? The recent updates versions contain bug fixes and raw support that you would not want to miss. If your problem has not been solved by the downgrade I would recommend to upgrade again to the most recent version.

Have you tried any of the trouble shooting measures I pointed to Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics?

I really think your problem might be caused by corrupted references or a corrupted Aperture Library, so trashing prefferences or repairing the library might help.
