Who invented the iPad 3

I'm not sure what you mean by "invented". The iPad is the work of probably dozens if not hundreds of Apple engineers and designers, few of whom Apple will ever mention publicly. Jonathan Ive is the lead designer for Apple and along with Steve Jobs are probably the most influential figures associated with most existing Apple products, but again, the iPad is the work of many people, not just one or two.

The iPad is a continuation of developemnt that began with the first tablet computer, decades ago. Wiki has a long article. Jony Ive is the lead industrial designer, and a dozen others assisted. Trying searching www.uspto.gov for iPad related patents, and you'll see how much previous knowledge was used to develop the product.
